FAQ

1. What is Yayasan LaSallian Kuching?

Yayasan LaSallian Kuching (YLK) is a charity organisation founded at the behest of Bro. Albinus, formerly a principal of St Joseph’s Secondary School, Kuching and Sacred Heart Secondary School, Sibu. It is registered as a non-profit organisation with the Registrar of Societies, Malaysia.

Continuing the legacy of St John Baptist De La Salle, YLK aims to provide holistic and meaningful education to the poor and disadvantaged children in Sarawak. This is achieved through tuition and special learning centres that offer free lessons for the students. Initially, these centres were focused in the rural areas. However, in 2009, YLK took notice of the poor and disadvantaged students in Kuching and opened up its first urban centre at Stutong to cater for students who came from re-settled families. In 2010, it opened a special learning centre at St Joseph’s School for children with various learning abilities.
