La Salle Centre, Sibuluh was formerly known as St Matthew’s Tuition Centre. It was the first Tuition Centre opened by Yayasan Lasallian Kuching on the 6th July 2002 in Bau District. With the support of the Tua Rumah (Village Head) and the Village Committee, YLK acquired the use of a community hall (Old Balai Raya) as an office which also functions as a library and two classrooms.
39 Primary 6 students registered for the tuition classes and did exceptionally well in their UPSR that year; leading to requests from the villagers in the nearby areas to set up similar centres to help their children.
